Our School Vision

‘Inspire to Aspire’

Our vision is that Barnard Grove is a place for everyone to grow, learn and achieve, where concern for others is central to everything we do. Together, we inspire and empower, raising aspirations and enabling each individual to be the best they can be.

At the heart of our curriculum offer, are the following driving principles:

  • We will provide ambition for all by teaching children the skills, knowledge and understanding they need to develop into well-rounded, informed individuals who are ready to face the challenges of the modern-day world.
  • We will be literacy-rich, opening our children’s eyes to the world of words and unlocking the skills to be a life-long learner.
  • We will embrace diversity and difference by being inclusive for all, understanding, accepting and respecting everyone in society.
  • We will provide rich learning experiences (both in and beyond the classroom), ensuring our children have frequent and varied enrichment opportunities – meeting people, visiting places and learning skills for life.
  • We will raise aspirations so that all children believe, and have the knowledge and skills, to be whatever they want to be: ‘If you can see it, you can be it.’
  • We will promote positive behaviours to ensure our children know right from wrong and have the skills to be happy, healthy successful citizens, who take pride in being part of their community.
  • We will forge open and honest relationships with parents and carers, so that children’s progress and well-being is a priority for all.
